Creating a Simple Pleasure

Joining Dayle for Simple Pleasures
I like the idea of taking time to think of simple pleasures so here I am late in the day.
This is where one of my simple pleasures begins. Are you scared yet?
Maybe another tool will give you a hint

Now you are probably getting the idea
My simple pleasure is to relax by a camp fire
We are still fortunate to be allowed this simple pleasure in our township and I am so glad because for me to sit and relax; watch the flames and smell the wood smoke is indeed a simple pleasure
It's even fascinating from the sideporch
Or on the swing
Maybe it wasn't so simple after all since I had to carry the wood and build the fire just to take the photos. Nah, didn't mind it a bit because it is one of my simple pleasures to enjoy.

Time for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday at Coastal Charm

This is a collection of finds from the Sunday Flea Market.
The minute I spied this box I knew what its re-purpose was and now it sits on my desk and hides my multi USB dock and various wires connected to it.
As you can see it was definitely over priced and the offer I made was taken. Still too much but when I knew exactly what I wanted it for, and it needed nothing done but a shining well ...
These were 2 for a quarter and you might wonder why I would take the used one. Keep scrolling

This began to emerge before my very eyes. (taking license with my imagination here)

And this is what it turned out to be tucked in the center. I could block it as is but it looks like it could use a finishing border. Someday, sigh.

As you know from a past post I am a fan of tapestry and this little boxy case is perfect for my new camera. The placemats are reversable so the bright yellow one went here
And its flipped sister went here.

Can one ever have too many placemats? I think not.

I see many are ahead of me over a Coastal Charm. Better hurry.

Blue Weather

Time to join Smiling Sally for Blue Monday

The weather this summer has been like no other before it. High temps and thunderstorms abound. The second is tempered by the beauty of the sky before the storm and its many shades of blue. Here are a couple of our skies at or near Muldoon in the last few days.

"O Beautiful for Spacious Skies

For Amber Waves of Grain

For Purple Mountains Majesty

Above the Fruited Plains

America, America God shed His grace on thee

And crown thy Good with Brotherhood

From Sea to Shining Sea

Amen

A Scrolled Bench Morphs

Joining in with Metamorphisis Monday. Let's have a seat out here and let me tell you about that plant stand you see on the end of the porch.

Last May I was blessed to discover this wonderful world of Blogs. Prior to that my idea of a blog was a tell all; pour out your thoughts; generally depressing concept. How very mistaken I was! That discovery set off a long dormant love for thrifting. And the rest is history.

This beautful white bench, a beauty in its own right was one of my revival finds at GW.

I had breezed in for a quick go around, found several nifty little items and was on my way to the check out when I made that glance to the right that so many of you will relate to, and there it was.
Then I got home and found this tag hanging from a leg. It's a little blurry and reads $55.00. Must have been left over from someone else's sale minus the cushions. A spray can of paint and it morphed into this lovely plant bench. Don't you love how the 'S' moldings match the scrolls on our porch supports and the black shutters? So that's one of the many morphs at Muldoon. Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad you did. With the cooler temps it was nice to enjoy this brief respite with you.

There's lots more to see at Between Naps on the Porch.
