Red Japanese Maple
  Under consideration
Let's have a look around.
How about the inside?

Porch could use a little work.
We'll get back to you.
The porch situation may have been the deciding factor
No lease signed. But . . .

Some one else is not so fussy

Armed Forces Day - May 16
2015 Theme: “Honor Those Who Answered the Call to Serve”
Date: Saturday, May 16th, 2015, Celebrated the third Saturday in May every year.
About: A single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country.  This day honors everyone serving in the U.S. Military branches; Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy.

2. Lovie Dovie
"The White Pigeon is often known as the release dove for events such as weddings or sporting events. While it looks very much like a dove, the White Pigeon is a specialty breed of homing pigeon. Whereas releasing a large number of doves into the air during events is likely to strand hundreds of doves in the wild unable to care for themselves, White Pigeons can be released and are likely to find their way home."

Garden Sign

This was a thrifty find in June 2011
I left it as was at the time.
The weather had taken its toll
All faded and part of the bottom is gone.
I first sprayed with flat black.
Since I haven't done something like this in a long time
most of my supplies are gone.
So I got creative and used metallic magic markers
and pastel pencils.
Then sprayed with semi-gloss urethane.
Not sure how it will hold up
but I'm pleased with the result.

Lovie Dovie

Came upon this fenced in flock of pigeons while out and about.

This pair were getting a little 'lovie dovie'.

The RG surmised they were practicing for an upcoming wedding.

R for Redbud Tree

Cercis canadensis (eastern Redbud) is a large deciduous shrub or small tree, native to eastern North America from Southern Ontario, Canada south to northern Florida but can thrive as far west as California.

The Redbud blossoms have peaked.

There's a big bumblebee in there somewhere.

A nice shape for Christmas decorating.
The upright spruce is away from the house and doesn't block the window.

Mosaic Monday 051115

While adventuring at the local State Park
Lucy and I came upon this tree.
Such great texture.
Sadly, the red oak fungus accomplished what it set out to do
and the tree is dead.
