Did I miss any?

Friday Favourites from Saturday's Drive

So for Cath's Friday Favourites, here we go . . .

The rest of the story - almost

A one room school converted to a cottage.
I want to take another drive to see the other side
which appears to have an addition.

A totem pool which is not really a pole
but part of a real tree at Lake Latonka.

One of several docks at Lake Latonka

The Dam built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
forming the 300 acre lake.

The sound of the water rushing over the dam was soothing.

A distant view of some of the homes surrounding the lake.

Maple Lane Farm
The long storage building houses multiple pontoons.
Perhaps belonging to the residents of Lake Latonka?

Outdoor Wednesday - Saturday's Drive Through Amish Country

So for Susan's Outdoor Wednesday, here we go . . .

These photos were taken while driving through Amish Country.
On typical Amish farms in our area.
the barns tend to be white
while red is often the color choice of
 the Pennsylvania Dutch.

Amish springhouse with windmill

Shocks of corn created by hand.

With our mild winter, laundry was drying outside in February.

Either a multi vehicle family
or something social going on this particular Saturday.

Amish schoolhouse and outdoor bathroom.

A buggy on the road; perhaps to the nearby village of Volant.

This old mill is located in the village of Volant located in the heart of Amish country and houses crafts and antiques.
Several years ago (1970s & 80s) the village was developed as a tourist attraction. Most of the town homes, buildings and even railroad cars have become shops and are filled with handmade crafts, quilts and supplies, jams/jellies, furniture, fly fishing... you get the picture.
A wonderful place to spend the day if those are your interests.

Tuesday's Treasures from Saturday's Drive

Continuing to share Saturday's photos as they relate to the day's link-ups.

So for Tom's 'Tuesday's Treasures', here we go . . .

Antique tractors at Maple Lane Farm

Farmall - The McCormick Harvesting Machine Company merged with several other manufacturers and formed the International Harvester Co. They began experimenting with tractors around 1905. These tractors were huge, powerful and clumsy and although they were useful for large areas, they did not work well for the small acreage farmer. IH produced many tractors during their reign and were ranked as one of the largest manufacturers of farm tractors.

Oliver - The Oliver Farm Equipment Company was an American farm equipment manufacturer from the 20th century. It was formed as a result of a 1929 merger of four companies

Fordson - Fordson was a brand name of tractors and trucks. It was used on a range of mass-produced general-purpose tractors manufactured by Henry Ford & Son Inc from 1917 to 1920, by Ford Motor Company (U.S.) and Ford Motor Company Ltd (U.K.) from 1920 to 1928, and by Ford Motor Company Ltd (U.K.) from 1929 to 1964.
The latter also built trucks under the Fordson brand.
