Alas

This Cicada never finished the cycle. We found it on the driveway.
No more night time serenade from high in a tree.
Such unbelievable detail!

Once roots are found the cicada will stay underground from 2 to 17 years depending on the species. Cicadas are active underground, tunneling and feeding. After the long 2 to 17 years, cicadas emerge from the ground as nymphs. Nymphs climb the nearest available tree, and begin to shed their nymph exoskeleton.

Surprises; Simple Pleasures

'J'
'J'ust a fact.
Lucy never ceases to amaze us with the comfort zones she creates all on her own. And watching her do it is entertaining.
This body pillow was laying across the back of the sofa before she 're-arranged' things to her satisfaction and snuggled in.

'Favorite'
I called it a hovercraft; the RG chose drone.

'Surprise'
See 'Favorite' above. I was capturing the butterfly and spied the bee when I downloaded the photo.

Lost and Found?

I snapped this mirror reflection as we were leaving the state park
I hope someone returns to retrieve their lunch cooler.

Hovercraft

I wasn't pleased with the capture of the butterfly.
And then the hovering bumblebee to the left caught my eye.

Signs of the Seasons

As August winds down, these deep red berries have popped out in our area.
More of nature's provision to our feathered friends.

This Holly is chock full.

The Robins have the limbs of the Sweet Bay Magnolias bouncing.

DRENCHED

One of our local flea markets is on a Drive-In Theater hillside.
By the time we meandered through we were DRENCHED  😌 from the heat!

But everything I found was water proof  😅

This week's finds were this vase with the zinnias
and the cream and sugar set.

It would have been a nice touch to bring in the bumble bee that was feasting on the zinnias but it didn't seem prudent.
