Headline - Crisis averted:

You’ll be able to keep using a PA driver’s license to fly.

I had this confirmed by the DMV when I went for my photo license this week since we have a trip to Arizona
planned for early December.

“For age is opportunity no less
Than youth itself, though in another dress,
And as the evening twilight fades away
The sky is filled with stars, invisible by day.”
---Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Good news with yet another birthday
approaching in the near future.

A New Crowd

Thankful for youth and memories of our sons and their friends.

As we walked out the pier we encountered a new crowd taking advantage of the low water level. This area was once a main highway and the road bed is still solid at that spot.

One more stop and they headed out ahead of the coming darkness. I imagine 'home' was at least a couple miles away.

A New Pal

Juvenile Ring-billed Gull

This was the second day my new Pal flew in to sit a spell

Look quick to verify he has two legs.

Now you see it; now you don't

And just to assure me he didn't lose it
he gave me a peek where it was tucked away.

Then he proceeded to remain that way
the entire time.
Yesterday I watched him walk quite a long way up the roadway.
So I'm fairly certain he isn't injured.

Lazy Hazy Day of . . .

not Summer but Fall

While these two anglers became acquainted

I observed a school group arriving

Half of the group headed to the dock
For the Nautical Nature Tour

While the other half headed for a Nature Walk
But first they stopped at this shelter for a Nature Talk

So I listened in from the deck below
This was a beautiful 75 pound Coyote pelt.
It had been killed by a car.

Calcium Supplement?

This little pine squirrel lives in our wood bin
and escapes Lucy at every turn.

Lately he's been gnawing on this deer antler. (loudly)

While remaining on the alert for you know who.

Chestnut Tree

A bit of porcupine experience
Chestnuts are the fruit of a deciduous tree, which can be found on nearly every continent across the globe.
Chestnuts grow on trees surrounded by a spiny shell. Inside the spiny shell is a dark brown, shiny nut, with a starchy center.
