In the Merry, Merry Month of . . .

January

Whichever way you look at it

There's not a lot to 'crow' about.

But on a clear day like this
I can't really complain.

Even a 'turkey' can stay warm
when she's prepared.

An thankful for online friends
Lucy says: 'Did you say Sandra asked about me? Aw, shucks', how sweet of her.

Cold on the outside and warm on the inside.

And this is how Mother Nature
rounded out the week atMuldoon
with a little geometric beauty.

The Term Fall Splendor . . .

comes to mind.
My oh so favorite
Japanese Maple
This 'fall' occurred
in one hour's time
after this morning's frost.

This is the true color of these leaves in fall
(no editing)
after being a deep burgundy all summer.

a little brighter sunlight on this one.

The RG planted this tree
thirty years ago when
I was in cardiac care.

I am thankful for all the seasons of life
I have been blessed with since then.

This Week in Nature . . .

 minus one
 A misty morning atMuldoon

Representing Nature

My favorite lakeside willow

A few things past their prime
yet they hold a beauty all their own.

The RG was delighted to find
a few sheep head mushrooms.

It's Been A Long Week But . . .

Life is Still Good.

A welcome alternative
from time to time.

We know we're getting close to home
when this horse appears.

A Motel's attempt to settle the debate I guess.

Hibiscus

Milkweed getting ready to burst.

Hank's Back . . .

Willy Nilly atMuldoon this week

#1 - Hank Heron has ventured out for the summer.

#2 - No, not Christmas.
The porch cushions are red, green & black.
(but nice to think of the Lord & his birth anytime)

#3 - This robin sat in that spot for at least
20 minutes singing as if there was some kind of distress.

#4 - A little corner of Southwest influence.

#5 - No problem; it's a good kind

Headline - Crisis averted:

You’ll be able to keep using a PA driver’s license to fly.

I had this confirmed by the DMV when I went for my photo license this week since we have a trip to Arizona
planned for early December.

“For age is opportunity no less
Than youth itself, though in another dress,
And as the evening twilight fades away
The sky is filled with stars, invisible by day.”
---Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Good news with yet another birthday
approaching in the near future.

Monday thru Friday . .

never a dull moment.

Random #1
The week started with a bang when we experienced the first official tornado of the season.
You know its nasty when the rain appears in the photo without adjusting the shutter speed.

Random #2
The neighbor's concord grapes appear promising

Random #3
The RG announced he was hearing a Baltimore Oriole
So I quickly brought out the grape jelly
It didn't take long

  Random #4
This is the tail end of a herd crossing the road ahead
Not sure if it was planned or not.

Random #5
I wound up the week with a
family research day at the courthouse
in a neighboring county.

ending the week by
Celebrating our 44th anniversary
on this Cinco De Mayo 2017
