Thankful for So Many Things . . .

One of them is physical ability.

At my age I have some aches and pains,

but I am still able to move about quite freely.

Case in point; I yet again re-arranged my sewing room.

Bear in mind that I arrange and re-arrange my home constantly. Its either a neurotic habit or I just simply enjoy the creativeness. (I choose creative ;)

Perhaps that is the exercise

that keeps me mobile? (heavy furniture)

One thing that is always important is

to have a good view from the window

for birdwatching.

And look who arrived as I was typing.

Just As Many of Us . . .

Lucy is in the senior years of her life and she is now in her last days.

but continues to faithfully watch for

the return of her master

when he is out and about.

Her condition has resulted in

nasal blockage and fainting spells.

She is seeing the Vet regularly

and the office calls to check on her.

She shows no sign of pain

and continues to go out when needed.

We have chosen to give her

our own hospice care.

Hospice care is a special program for patients who are ill and dying.
Rather than trying to cure an illness, hospice aims to:
make the patient comfortable.
ease pain and other symptoms through a sad and difficult time.

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts.

Did Katy? . . .

Katydid.

Katydids are a large group of insects in the order Orthoptera, related to the grasshoppers and crickets. Some katydids have been called long-horned grasshoppers because of their long and slender shape, but actually katydids are more closely related to crickets than to any type of grasshopper.

I Guess We've Come to Terms or . . .

hunger won the day.

I've been trying to capture this little cutie all week.

This is the fruit of a Kousa Dogwood.

Kousa Dogwood fruit is the primary edible part of Kousa Dogwood Cornus kousa), which is a small tree or shrub native to Asia that is now a very popular landscape plant in the US. It is also called Japanese Dogwood, Korean Dogwood, and Chinese Dogwood, there are many cultivated varieties in existence.

and this Chipmunk has been predictably breakfasting on them each morning about the same time.

And always took flight when I opened the window screen (slowly and carefully)

However, today, either hunger won out or I don't seem to be much of a threat anymore.
