Spring to Summer June 12 2016

The month of June ushers in Summer atMuldoon
and we find ourselves staying more 'local' these days.

The native Rhododendron protect their blooms
until late, late spring in western P. A.

New life appears in place of that which has passed.

The late setting sun slices in from the northwest.

And the early morning sun has almost reached its peak.
Shining through the flowers and bushes from the northeast.

Yep, June is busting out all over atMuldoon
and the RG (retired gardener) and I are enjoying
the 'simple pleasures' of this 'season' of our lives.
We spent a lovely few days this past week
clearing out the spring perennial left-overs
and planting, the soon to be beautiful, annuals.

Barns from a Friday Outing June 12 2016

Snapped these on a recent outing to
the 'BIG' Friday Flea Market
at Rogers, Ohio

Maybe the shed is next in line for a make-over.

Looks like the lower level was re-done
Now to the roof?

A different angle from a drive-by.

Friday's Hunt Jun 10 2016

'X'
I looked up nouns beginning with the letter 'X' and except for xylophone they all looked like drugs. So in the spirit of creativity...
The early morning sky was 'x'tra awesome this morning and I was 'x' trememely 'x'cited to see it.

Favorite
This is my favorite this week because other than swooping through, this is the first time a Rose Breasted Grosbeak has stopped for a visit.

Wet (Water)
Our resident bullfrog is wet in the shade of a water iris.

And another Red which grows quite tall 6 - 8ft
and greets us in the kitchen window.

And Yellow; always a beauty.

Will They Come? 060816

No bird photos for Wild Bird Wednesday this week
But hopefully next week at these new feeding stations. . .

My creation in an attempt to attract Baltimore Orioles

Then
There was a knock at the door. It was a neighbor who had heard it was the RG's birthday.
He gave him this neat birdfeeder he is creating these days.

Passion for Peonies 03 June 2016

I confess.
I have a passion for peonies.
I confess again.
I didn't realize how many varieties we had in our gardens.

There are a couple more too
but they are past their prime.
(my name tag below includes an early red variety)
