Mosaic Barns 070615

Four more barns
snapped while out looking for fences last week

The vertical construction of the silo caught my eye on this one.
I just noticed the lettering on the barn.
At one time it said 'Ruby Twin Lakes' with a hex sign at each end
But I don't think that is what I am seeing here.

Without some attention to this barn,
the silo will be joining my collection of solo siloes.

Wonder how many seasons it took
for the ivy to cover this one.

The Week of the Turkey Vulture

Lucy and I took a jaunt to the lake in the hope of seeing 'our pal'  the osprey and we weren't disappointed.

On our usual country road return we experienced our second vulture encounter of the week

The Loretta Young Show
(some may need to dig deep to remember Loretta and her mink coat)
And then the fashion runway display began

Then she tried to lead me away from her feast.

'Well if you're not leaving, I am'

It's That Time of Year

In our area Black Rasberries
and the 4th of July
just go together
 Time to bake the bisquits
Lucy says, 'pick this one, it's ripe'
The first round of picking went here
and is bubbling day and night.

Happy 4th of July from Lucy and I.

Another first atMuldoon

Turned onto our little road one day this week.
What is that just past our driveway?
Good grief, it's a Turkey Vulture!
 Stay away, 'it's mine'.
No worries, your welcome to it.
And then I discovered there were four of them.

Small limb for such a big bird.

A real balancing act.

Not sure I'm comfortable with his eye on 'me'.

All kidding aside, a magnificent bird.

Buck Moon – July

What is a Buck Moon? The full moon that appears in July is called the Buck Moon. Male deer, which shed their antlers every year, begin to regrow them in July, hence the Native American name for July’s full moon.

Fence Found

Bass Tournament night at the lake.
So Lucy and I went in search of a fence

Found this one along a country road
we don't frequent very often.

While searching I snapped several more country barns
which I will share another day.

Blooms and a Favorite Vase

Big, Bold and Beautiful
The oval dish in the background
was a thrifty find several years ago.
 Never cut Astibille before so
not sure what to expect.
This vase came to be through my Grandmother
I really like the square design.
Thank you for stopping by atMuldoon
