Mosaic Monday 051115

While adventuring at the local State Park
Lucy and I came upon this tree.
Such great texture.
Sadly, the red oak fungus accomplished what it set out to do
and the tree is dead.

  3. The texture truly is beautiful! I wonder if the fungi would have taken over if the tree were not already dying.

  6. Lucy looks like she is a good walking companion. Too bad about the tree but at least it is sustaining the life of the fungi growing on it.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Gayle.

  8. Hello Gayle
Oh that is sad to lose a tree - nature can be so cruel.
The fungi literally sucked the life from the tree.....
    Your dog Lucy is gorgeous!
Lovely to meet you at Mosaic Monday!
