Day Trip on a Snowy Morning

and a Mystery Visitor at Home

spied these two horses with there wooly winter coats
as we rode through the countryside about an hour north.

and a mystery visitor at the feeding station this morning.
Solid black all over with a gray bill.
Slightly smaller than a robin and slightly larger than a junco.
Can anyone identify it?

  1. Hello, I always love the pretty horses. Your birdie visitor may be a Junco. Great quote! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy and safe weekend! I wish you and your family all the best in 2017, Happy New Year!

  2. Pretty horses!
Nice bird photo but I cannot ID it
    Happy New Year!

  3. Just stopping by to say Happy New Year to you. Sorry,I can't help with the ID on that one.

  4. No idea about the bird. I love to watch them though but I can only identify very few by appearance and bird song. Beautiful horses! Have a very Happy New Year.

  5. I don't know what the bird is, but I love both pics...

    Happy New Year!

  6. whatever the bird is, he is cute and looks cold but happy. as do the horses in the snow.

  7. Your bird's coloring is like a gray catbird, but the beak looks different...more like a junco. Do you even have gray catbirds where you live? There are here in Florida now, so I doubt they'd be up north. Love your pictures.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing my ventures in photos. I look forward to every comment and especially discovering your Blogs with their wonderful photos, conversation and words of wisdom and encouragement.
Each of you are a blessing to my day.
