Day Trip North

While on a day trip to what has been called
a 'forest catherdral'
we stopped at this country store.

There were several 'blues' to choose from
but I chose to add to my white pitcher collection.

It's a nice size for bathroom organization.

A Touch of Blue 20 June 2016

Thrifty Finds With A Touch of Blue this week

This is the color palette, taupe, blue and white,
for a bedroom I'm sprucing up.
This photo was taken at an angle to cut down on glare and reflection.
It's not hanging that crooked :/

Preston Blues 050916

Last week we took a relaxing walk
at Preston Park

It was very quiet and serene

The founders of the laboratory for glass research
graciously left their estate to be developed as a nature park.

Preston Park was the home and workplace of Frank Preston, an English-American engineer, ecologist and conservationist who helped found the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
Preston was a leading expert in glass technology. Among his accomplishments was the development of a lens polishing machine for George Eastman, the founder of Eastman Kodak. He invented a glass-melting furnace that allowed Corning Glass to create Corelle glassware.

Remembering Sally, Blue Monday 030716

It's Monday and in planning my day, Sally's "Blue Monday" meme came to mind. In reflecting on her gracious comments to my posts over time, this scripture came to mind. I have a heart feeling that she applied it to all she met.

Hebrews 13:1-2   Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

She also came immediately to my mind yesterday when we passed this 'blue' barn. I'm sure it won't be the last time something brings this lovely lady to my thoughts; and that's a good thing.

For you Sally

Fresh Off the Camera 030616

Off we went earlier today for a Sunday Drive to Pymatuning Lake and snapping along the way.

An unusual color for a barn in this area.

Blue Monday - 020816

So for Sally's Blue Monday, here we go . . .

Part way through a Saturday drive
which was primarily through farm country
the RG felt the need for a snack
and stopped at a small convenience store.

So you all know how it is. Me, a Camera, a Roving Eye and . . .
hey there is something BLUE.

and at Maple Hill farm this lovely blue fountain.
See something that catches your eye?
Follow along atMuldoon the rest of the week for more from our Saturday drive.

Chase the Blah with Blue

The front porch of our little white ranch atMuldoon was looking a little blah lately. So I pulled a remnant out of storage and made a blue floral cushion for the bench and an accent for the chair.

Added my little blue shutter with a wooden shoe;
some blue flowers and chased the blah away.

White Pickets Fences

aren't what they used to be.

But they still add their own charm

This one is kind of nondescript
would have been better from the front of the house.

Charming blue cottage and white fence
Probably built post WWII
This is now a VERY busy commercial intersection
I wonder how long the house will remain?

And a nice cape cod sporting its fence.

Took these from my cell while in transit so . . .

Jump the fence and join

Blue Monday

Hit the jackpot at the flea market. The thrifty items offered had moved up a notch this week.

Found these eight items
and a couple include 'Blue'

Thinking this pretty stained glass ornament
with the 'Blue' iris will look
nice on the bathroom window.

This 'Blue' striped crock could be used in multiple places.
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions, sigh.
 Total - less than $15.00
You can't beat 'controlled' Thrifting ; )

A Care-Free Summer Bloomer

A Care-Free Summer Bloomer - Perennial

 Balloon Flowers
The balloon flower, Platycodon grandiflorus, name comes from the resemblance of its buds to a hot air balloon. Before its buds unfold and reveal their starry petals, they inflate into little balloon-like balls

Archive Blues

Sharing archived photos on some Link Ups. They are from an excursion to Put-In-Bay, Ohio a few years ago.

"Stonehenge" said Blue Monday to me.
A mid-nineteenth century island house built circa 1855 for the Foster family. This dolomite and grout house is a rare stone version of the island's familiar L-shaped farm houses.
Lots of blue from beginning to end.
Do you spy the wringer washer?
With blue being the predominant color,
our friend, Norma fit right in.
Also notice our friend John's earphones for taking a taped tour.
It wasn't near Christmas but the tree was a nice touch.
It would have been 'grand' to play this piano.
As a girl, I would have loved this room.
 Even a heated attic bath.
Viewing these photos makes me want to go back.
There is so much to do and see.
A Fall tour would be nice.
