Butterfly in November

I was surprised to see this butterfly mid November in western Pennsylania. But then again I was surprised to see our rhododendron in full bloom too.

We were hiking through a cemetery on family research when the RG spotted it sunning away.

    I am noticing wildlife is still about and has not hibernated yet...extraordinary to see that butterfly.

    It has been an odd year. The other day, I spotted a hummingbird up in the pines...must have been passing through!...:)JP

    That would be a nice surprise to find a butterfly this late in the season.
